Lancework Set Piece for Wedding

My friend Tom Dewille sent this to us yesterday. Since this fuse can be used to light anything quickly, just thought you might like to read about it.

“Saturday I shot this set piece (picture above) for a wedding.

I used GN1205 fuse instead of quickmatch for fusing the lances, (made with Skylighter chems of course) and got 100% ignition of the lances, quietly, with no lances displaced by the violence of sticky match or quickmatch.

The set piece was 8×10 feet, and was fully lit in about 1 second, with much less than the usual smoke. I have been making set pieces for more than 50 years and have never been more pleased with the ignition thanSaturday.

If I had a source for the clips that grab the top of lances to hold the fuse on, I would not have had to use lots of masking tape and time (Hint Hint) [Tom is pushy, ain't he.]

Plus GN1205 fuse is cheaper than quickmatch, and for set pieces, superior. That fuse produces a 4 inch diameter fireball along its entire length.”
