I just found your blog on fireworks by chance with google.
I do enjoy your confetti story.Very interesting!
As for confetti and other indoor fireworks, it should be of great fun for festivities. I went to Germany for a trade fair this year and buyers seem quite interested by such kind of funny stuff. good for gala or family celebration!
Wish you good business:)
Xin from Liuyang
(I'm preparing for the creation of a trading company here, welcome to do business with me)

Nobody has completely answered the question about what the buildings were used for, but two were close. They were bulk rice storage buildings. The slanted bulkheads are there to handle the weight.

Those look to be for dumping something from trucks, could be several things, but I'd say some kind of solid fuel, probably charcoal or coal.

I dont think they be Mig hangers, doors are to small alley to narrow, the length is what throws me its very long, with that many entrances it would have to be something that you needed access to in several points, there also seems to be sort of wooden shutters over the windows or they might be bricked in, the black on concrete half way up and the way the alley looks like alot of mositure is present so the black could be some sort of tar applied to the concret to keep the mositure out?? and that would not be good for storage of grain, dry chem, possilbe salt??

My guess would be something explosive, probably black powder. Reinforced walls, thin roof; in case of disaster, everything blows straight up instead of out at bystanders.
