Tom, we got the TS-720 and packed it. It's available now at skylighter.com, product number CH8051. Our ace Cab-O-Sil packer said that when he went to rinse his hands after packing it, they stayed dry! The water ran right off of them, yet they were dry, not greasy feeling. Spooked him.

Pete, we recently added Cab-O-Sil TS-720 to Skylighter's product line. It's designed to keep the moisture out. See Tom DeWille's note on it in the comments for this post.

I've never made smoke before, but over the years I have made a lot of black powder, rocket fuel and things that go Bang! And I have found if you put your separate components in the oven for a short time @ say 175 or200' F to drive off the humidity, the stuff grinds real nice, and doesn't get gumpy in the ball mill.

Not necessary, John. Just dedicate grinder to oxidizers, cleaning them as well as you can between different chemical batches.

Dear Harry, I like it that you did so much to solve the problem, with smokes for your customers. Not many , If any, would have done what you did. It shows that you care for the truth of a thing. This is the secret for succes, keep it up. Sincerely Beryl [BCK Specialties, Inc.]

Hello Harry,

I'm glad other people can be as excited about these little wonders as I am. The video shows a badly tuned composition (violent burning), but with OK results. Pine soot is home-made...

I managed to get some webspace at www.senkohanabi.be. I will put the information I have already gathered on this site. Right now I'm rebuilding our house, so I don't have much time for rolling Senko's or updating the website. Nonetheless it's worth to take a look at it from time tot time to check if there's new info...

Also, I invite everyone who is interested in joining the quest for the ultimate senko to send his/her comments, experiences, articles,... to frederick@senkohanabi.be.
I'll add an extra page to publish these comments.

I would be extremely thankful to the person who reads the chapter "Theory" on my website and then sends me ANY additional information that is included in Shimizu's works. I cannot engage in bigger pyrotechnical projects, so buying the Shimizu-volumes is just not worth it... can someone help please?

Greetings en hear you soon at frederick.senkohanabi.be,
